 Terry S. ShillingPrincipal and Managing Member
Mr. Shilling has 20 years of managed care experience in leadership and executive positions with national and regional health care organizations including Ochsner Health Plan, Healthsource, Inc. and Cigna Health Care. He has been instrumental in the creation and management of successful managed health care entities.
As president and chief executive officer of an $800 million plan, he led the organization in a financial and operating turn-around from a $20 million loss to a $30 million profit in four years. During his tenure, the plan achieved full HIPAA compliance and received significant recognition for excellence, including an Excellent Accreditation from the National Council on Quality Assurance (NCQA) for all product lines and the J.D. Powers Award for the highest- ranked health plan.
Mr. Shilling was the founding CEO for successful health plans in Georgia and Arkansas, expanding them from start-up organizations to strong regional competitors. As president and CEO for plans in Texas and Tennessee, he led both plans to profitable growth under his leadership. Mr. Shilling earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Texas-Arlington. He holds a CPA certificate in the state of Texas.
In 2004, Mr. Shilling, with two other principals, founded Beam Partners, LLC with the goal of providing a unique combination of consulting services and measurable results to health plans and health delivery organizations. |
