 Jim McHaneyJim McHaney - Associate Mr. McHaney has extensive experience with health care plans, providers and governments, specializing in information technology, managed health care and e-health initiatives. Currently he is serving as Engagement Manager for a Beam client that is developing a Medicare Advantage Plan. His work with other Beam clients includes serving as Interim Executive Director Information Systems for a provider-owned health plan, and as the Engagement Manager for a Record Retention and Systems Retirement initiative. Previous to working with Beam clients, he served as practice director for the Technology and Business Solutions practice at Milliman, Inc. Mr. McHaney held a variety of executive and practice director management positions for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Computer Services Corporation and Deloitte Consulting.
Mr. McHaney was the founding principal of the HIPAA national service line for a major organization and has experience in conducting HIPAA audits as well as operational and performance audits in health care and provider organizations. As the founder and CEO of a West Coast consulting firm, he pioneered the development of healthcare information networks across the country. Mr. McHaney has received the direct marketing industry's three most prestigious awards: the Gold Echo for HCA national ER services business development, the Henry Hoke International award for Charter Medical substance abuse business development project and the MASA President's Award for HPI Hospital Pharmacies business development national campaign. Mr. McHaney earned his bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Missouri. He has been a lecturer at more than 150 national and international conferences and seminars, including presentations for the HIPAA Summits, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, American Hospital Association, International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the American Association of Colleges, and HCA. Mr. McHaney has been a Georgia March of Dimes board member. |
